DRONE POLICY
Blue Knob All Seasons Resort does not permit drone flying. Our residents and guests enjoy the privacy and quiet of the mountain, and, in the winter season, drones can present safety and liability issues with chairlifts and customers. This prohibition includes drones used for filming or videotaping, as well as any drone use by media or journalists operating above or within Blue Knob All Seasons Resort boundaries without express written permission from the resort. Much of our resort is immediately adjacent to or part of Blue Knob State Park and PA State Game Lands, neither of which allow drones under state law. The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners has banned drones on game lands and any other property controlled by the Game Commission. DCNR’s drone policy for Blue Knob State Park is as follows:
Drone Restrictions: To protect park resources, limit conflict with other park users, and avoid safety and privacy liabilities, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), remotely piloted vehicles (RPV) or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), all commonly referred to as DRONES, are only permitted on designated flying fields in six remote controlled airfield parks (Beltsville, Benjamin Rush, Hillman, Lackawanna, Prompton, and Tuscarora). Drones are only permitted in other PA State Parks in very limited circumstances which require a special use permit.
PETS
Here at Blue Knob, we’re all animal lovers and we want to keep them, their owners and our guests safe. For the safety of both humans and pets alike, during the winter sports season, we do not permit dogs on the slopes during any hours that the lifts are in operation and customers are using the slopes. Dogs are not permitted on the lifts at any time. In the off season, we welcome those who want to hike with their dog, as long as they remain in control of their pet at all times. Except for credentialed SERVICE animals, we do not permit dogs in the Summit Lodge, Blue Knob Clubhouse, Conference Center or any other facility on the mountain that serves food. We ask that you do not bring your pet to Blue Knob events. Keep in mind that, much of the land at the resort and surrounding areas is Blue Knob State Park land. The DCNR policy concerning pets in the state park is as follows: Because uncontrolled pets may chase wildlife or frighten visitors, pets must be physically controlled and attended at all times and on a leash, caged, or crated.
SKI BIKES/MOUNTAIN BIKES
Blue Knob All Seasons Resort does not permit ski bikes or similar devices on the slopes or tubing park. During the ski season, no bikes of any kind are permitted on the slopes at any time. This includes Snow bikes, Fat bikes, ski bikes, mountain bikes, snow scooters & cross country mountain biking. There may be events in designated areas..any biking would be limited to that time and place.
ALSO PROHIBITED:
Snowskates, sleds, toboggans, snowmobiles, and, all year long, no ATV’s or any motor vehicles, including motorcycles. (Service vehicles operated by resort personnel are the exception.)
